Navigating your military education benefits can be complex, but you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you are a veteran, a military-connected student, a dependent, or a spouse, we are committed to helping you maximize your resources at KCC. This FAQ page provides quick answers to common questions regarding VA application processes, eligibility letters, and how to maintain your benefits while pursuing your degree.

- MIA/POW Scholarship
- You will receive a Letter of Eligibility from the Department of Veteran Affairs once your benefits have been approved.
- Please bring a copy of this Letter of Eligibility to the Financial Aid Office to utilize your VA education benefits.
- Complete the KCC Veteran Education Benefits Request Form at the Office of Financial Aid.
Note: If you are using Federal VA education benefits, you must verify your enrollment on the last day of each month. You can verify your enrollment online, by calling 1-888-442-4551, or through Ask VA.
- Apply for your VA education benefit(s).
- Obtain your Letter of Eligibility for the benefit(s).
- Provide a copy of your Letter of Eligibility to the KCC Financial Aid Office.
- Register for your classes.
- Complete the Veterans Education Benefits Request Form at the KCC Financial Aid Office to utilize your benefit(s).

Please notify the KCC Office of Financial Aid about any changes in your enrollment while using VA education benefits. It is recommended that you see the Assistant Director of Financial Aid & Veteran Services prior to making changes to your schedule in order to better understand the outcome of such actions.
